The Simnet SSQ-1: A Shifter You Can Actually Tune
The Simnet SSQ-1 Sequential Shifter is built around one idea: the way a shifter feels is personal, so you should be able to change it. Five interchangeable detent balls, 25mm of handle height adjustment and adjustable resistance mean you can dial in everything from a smooth silent glide to a hard mechanical clack.
Most shifters give you one feel and that's what you live with. This one is designed to be adjusted until it's right.
Tailor Your Notch and Feel
The SSQ-1 ships with five types of interchangeable detent ball, each giving a different combination of tactile notch intensity and audible click. Swap them to suit the car, the discipline, or just what you enjoy.
- Nylon PA66, 7.5mm — pre-installed. Balanced notch and click, the sensible starting point
- POM, 8.0mm — similar to nylon with a slightly softer notch, and longer wearing
- Zirconia ceramic, 8.0mm — louder than nylon, quieter than steel, and self-lubricating so it needs little or no grease
- Steel, 7.5mm — the strongest notch and the loudest click, plus superior durability
- Steel, 7.92mm — balanced notch with a clear click, not as loud as the 7.5mm steel
Grub screw tension adjusts spring preload on top of that, so each ball type covers a range rather than a single fixed feel. Always run matching balls on both sides.
Solid Metal Construction
Stainless steel and CNC-machined aluminium throughout, with a powder coating that resists corrosion and adds a fine non-slip texture. Rigid where it needs to be, so the shifter isn't the thing flexing when you slam a downshift.
Seamlessly Adjustable Handle Height
25mm of stepless height adjustment. Raising or lowering the handle changes both the ergonomics and the shift throw, so you can set the reach to your seating position and the throw to your preference at the same time.
Multi-Command Handle
The handle carries a multi-function trigger giving instant engagement for neutral and reverse, with additional programmable inputs for whatever else you reach for most. Controls stay under your hand instead of on a keyboard.
Third-Party Wheelbase Support
A dedicated transit port allows direct connection to select third-party wheelbases, where the shifter is recognised as a native local device. That means genuine plug-and-play rather than a workaround. It also connects over USB to a PC.
Straightforward Software
Basic settings let you monitor and reverse upshifts and downshifts in a couple of clicks. Advanced settings expose the raw shift-up and shift-down readings so you can set the exact trigger point to match how hard and how far you actually move the lever.
Build It Out
Optional upgrades extend the platform further. The A-HLE lever extension kit offers adjustable length combinations for changing the mechanical feel and notch intensity, and the A-HSG soft grip adds a plusher touch surface. The A-PHS mounting plate holds the SSQ-1 and a Simnet handbrake together as one unit, with independent horizontal, vertical and rotational adjustment for each, and the plate flips over for right-hand or left-hand drive layouts.
