MOZA Announces New Porsche Mission R Steering Wheel

Introduction

As an official replica, the new Porsche Mission R Steering Wheel will feature everything from a flexible OLED display and a dash display editing system to twelve precision controls that mimic those of the official Porsche Mission R electric race car. Like most of their products, the Mission R Steering Wheel will be compatible with all MOZA wheelbases, as it features an obligatory built-in aluminum quick-release system. Additionally, the wheel is powered by a high-performance processor (1.3GHz) which aims to deliver real-time complex rendering and feedback. 

MOZA Racing announced their plans for this wheel on January 6, so I’m a bit late to the party, but it was still worth covering. In this blog post, we’ll go over the latest updates and everything we know so far about the wheel ahead of its release.

Design and Make 

MOZA’s Mission R Steering Wheel is officially Porsche-branded, following a similar collaboration to their Lamborghini-backed SCV12 wheel. It’s an exact replica of the 2021 Mission R concept and features a flexible 5.4-inch OLED display with a customizable UI system, offering 10 preset layouts for personalized interfaces. The screen runs at a crisp 720p resolution with a smooth 60Hz refresh rate. Also mentioned before, its processor runs at 1.3GHz, ensuring responsive performance for the wheel’s OLED display, UI animations, and real-time telemetry without lag or stuttering.

The replica sim racing wheel is constructed with MOZA's signature CNC-machined aluminum with suede material for the grips. The shift paddles with dual clutch are also manufactured with aluminum alloy for smooth shifting. Additionally, the paddles have the ability to switch between single and dual clutch modes depending on the user's driving style. 

Controls and Performance

The original website listing details the twelve precision controls that are included with the Mission R Steering Wheel. Offered are twelve inputs, including floating buttons, thumb wheels, rotary encoders, and rear buttons. The aluminum alloy thumb wheels and rotary encoders give the wheel a premium, durable feel, while the innovative floating button design and adjustable rear buttons ensure intuitive access and precise control during intense racing sessions.

In terms of performance, the wheel delivers smooth and responsive operation across all functions.
