How to add an email to safe sender list

 

1. Gmail

  • Open Gmail and find an email from the sender you want to add to the safe sender list.
  • Hover over the sender's name at the top of the email and a window will pop up.
  • Click on "More Info" at the bottom of the window and then click on "Add to Contacts" to save the sender to your contacts list. Gmail generally considers email from your contacts as safe.

2. Outlook (including Hotmail and MSN)

  • Click on the gear icon in the upper-right corner, then select “View all Outlook settings.”
  • Go to “Mail” > “Junk email.”
  • Under the “Safe senders and domains” section, click “Add.”
  • Enter the email address or domain you want to add and click “Save.”

3. Yahoo Mail

  • Click the gear icon in the top right corner, then select “More Settings.”
  • Go to “Filters” and select “Add new filters.”
  • Name your filter and in the "Set rules" section, choose "contains" and enter the sender's email address.
  • Under "Choose a folder to move to," select "Inbox."
  • Click “Save” to create the filter.

4. Apple Mail

  • Open an email from the sender you want to add.
  • Click on the sender's email address at the top of the email.
  • Click “Add to Contacts” or “Create Contact.”
  • Save the contact to ensure the email goes to your inbox.

5. Mozilla Thunderbird

  • Right-click on a received message from the sender you want to whitelist.
  • Select “Create Filter From...”
  • Name your filter and set the condition to “From” and “is” and then enter the sender’s email address.
  • Choose the action “Move Message to” and select your Inbox.
  • Click “OK” to save the filter.

6. AOL Mail

  1. Log in to your AOL Mail account.
  2. Click on "Options", usually found near the top right of the page, and select "Mail Settings".
  3. Navigate to "Spam Settings". This section allows you to manage what gets marked as spam.
  4. In the "Sender Filter" section, click the option to allow mail only from people you've emailed.
  5. Add the sender's email address to your contacts:
    • Go to your inbox and open an email from the sender.
    • Hover over the sender's name or email address at the top of the email.
    • Click "Add to Contacts" when the information card appears. This action will automatically save the sender to your address book and often prevent emails from going to spam.
  6. Alternatively, you can directly enter the email address or domain in the "Sender Filter" section under "Spam Settings". Choose to add it to the list of allowed senders and domains.
